Support RomFest Africa 

Do you love romance novels and wish you could support the genre? That’s what Romance Writers of West Africa is attempting to do with RomFest Africa 2020. We intend to proudly bring romance to the masses in West Africa through a book festival which will show off African romance writers and their wonderful books. You are invited to attend the festival, but if you can’t, here is your chance to help spread your love of romance to people who may or may not know the wonder of the genre and to support romance authors at RomFest Africa.

What is RomFest Africa?

RomFest Africa: Romance Booklovers Festival is West Africa's first romance book-industry event organized by Romance Writers of West Africa.

What happens at RomFest?

Participants can attend writer/industry seminars, reader/book events as well as the Ufere Awards Dinner gala. The events are designed to entertain as well as inform. People will meet fellow book lovers, make new friends, have fun with authors and learn about the industry.

Aims

• Incite awareness and excitement about romance set in Africa or by African authors.

• Provide a platform for writers, publishers and artists to showcase their work.

• Deliver an educational and entertaining experience for writers to learn and expand their craft.

• To build connections between readers, writers, publishers and other professionals

Why we are crowdfunding?

Romance Writers of West Africa is relying on members, sponsors, participants and, private donors to make the first RomFest a resounding success. We are appealing to you to donate whatever you can to help make the festival happen.

What will the money be used for?

• Pay for the venue and event production expenses 

• Covering the cost of educational workshops – including materials, preparation and facilitators

• Helping to cover the cost for local and international travel for guest writers and contributors

• Covering expenses for the team of volunteers who will help run the festival

• Ensure the event is accessible to the community

If you’re not able to contribute, you can show your support by spreading the word about this campaign on every social media platform you’re on and by telling your friends and contacts. To reach our target, we will need all the support we can get!
